Compress Your Photo to Under 500KB

Corporate HR document systems (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors), institutional form builders, and professional licensing portals often impose a 500KB limit on photo uploads. At this limit, image quality is rarely a concern — the tool only reduces quality enough to stay under 500KB.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which systems use a 500KB photo limit?
Corporate HR platforms (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR), institutional form builders, and professional licensing board portals commonly set 500KB limits. Government employee ID systems and hospital staff credentialing portals also use this limit frequently.
Will my photo actually need compression to reach 500KB?
Probably not for passport-size photos. A 35×45mm JPEG at 300 DPI exported at 80% quality is typically 80–150KB — well under 500KB. Modern phone photos (12–48 MP) can be 3–8 MB and will need compression. The tool only reduces quality as much as required.
What is the quality difference between the 200KB and 500KB tools?
The 500KB output uses JPEG quality 85–95%, which is essentially indistinguishable from the original at any normal viewing size. If a portal accepts up to 500KB, there is no benefit to compressing lower than needed.
